It has been a while since I shot seniors. I love them! I feel like I have more of a non traditional approach to senior pictures though and its not for everyone. Felicity was a perfect fit because she shared the same hipster/hippie vibes that I love to capture!
Lorenzo was a little ham. He was shy, he was smiley, he cried when he touched cake.. I mean I usually cry after I eat the cake, but you do you Lorenzo!
I seriously love bubble bath sessions guys! They are always the cutest and usually produce genuine smiles and laughs. I need to maybe offer them for many sessions. Let me know!
I like to call the theme of this session “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to.” But he still was the cutest little race car driver around! Happy Birthday little man!
I honestly love repeat clients. I love watching your children grow and your family evolve. I’ve had the pleasure of working with this family for the past couple of years and watching them go from newlyweds to mom and dad.
Anyways. We have had such a wet year out here the in the arid desert, and let me tell you it is breathtakingly beautiful right now. So obviously this was the perfect destination for this beautiful family. We battled bugs, danced to baby shark and played in the dreamy yummy light. We got blessed with a beautiful sunset. All in all it was a great day.
I think going someplace that you visit and adventure at as a family for family pictures is basically the best idea ever. Why not have pictures of happy memories. I remember going to the La Sal Mountains with my family to camp, and I would kill to have some pictures of us all together back then. Something to look at and smile on and let the flood of good memories and times flow through you. I mean I’m just as happy to do a session in a beautiful field, but getting to take pictures someplace special to you is just icing on the cake. Not to mention I love new places and exploring ❤
It was seriously such a long hard winter here in Utah, I thought for sure it would never end! The end result is something I have never seen before. The desert and everywhere in between is so in bloom. Its so green and lush and full of blooms. Just like these beautiful blooming gals. So yay for warmer weather, blossoms, baby bumps and beautiful families.
If you ever want to look majestic on a moutain, wind blown, and the subject of a living work of art, give me a call. All my life I wanted to be Annie Leibovitz, and this year I’m more passionate about making your pictures look like a vogue spread than ever. Lets go to beautiful places and take beautiful pictures. Make your memories more than smiling happy poses. Lets make them an experience, an adventure. To be honest shooting in Moab, Utah has been a bucket list for so long! One is crossed off and now I have a couple more I’m dreaming up. Come on Mama’s lets go play! Also been feeling more and more the fine art aspect of photography. It felt so magical making some digital art with what I have in my head. So get ready this girl is no longer your basic, ordinary photographer. We are going full artist mode. And we are gonna do it together.
There is so much I want to tell you about this fun little session, but the one thing that is weighing on my heart the most is that the scenery will never be the same. I’m thankful for pictures because it will be a long time before I get to tell a story like this at Potters Ponds again. So you know, go get pictures taken in the places you love. Next year it might not look the same.
Sometimes you just have to roll with it while a storm rolls in. I envisioned a sunny pretty desert session, with flowers and their bold colors popping up all over. Mother nature had different plans, and I guess she knows best because I absolutely love how these turned out. The sky brought so much emotion to the pictures, and the wind just added to the whimsy.
